Amazon Fulfillment Center Brings Jobs to Fort Myers
Southwest Florida continues to attract major business investment, including a large Amazon robotics fulfillment center currently being built in the Fort Myers area, expected to open in 2027. The project reflects the regions rapid population growth and its increasing importance as a logistics and distribution hub.
The facility will be approximately 650,000 square feet and is being constructed on more than 140 acres in Lee County. Once operational, the fulfillment center is expected to create a lot of jobs across logistics, operations, and warehouse management.
Large distribution centers often lead to additional economic activity in surrounding communities. Transportation companies, supply chain services, and other supporting businesses frequently expand nearby to support logistics operations.
As companies continue expanding into Southwest Florida, developments like this help strengthen the local economy while increasing demand for housing, infrastructure, and services throughout the Fort Myers area.
